After Cologne-based photographer Ben Hammer concluded his analog photo book trilogy last year with “Paradies”, he released a new work this December with NOW AND THEN. Unlike his previous photo books, NOW AND THEN is a conceptual autobiographical work, but an almost classic photo book. On 140 pages the photographer takes a look back at his previous photographic work and shows both analog photography but also digital photography. From portraits to nudes, everything is there. His photographs are loosened up by mixed media collages, which he has digitized for the book. In addition, instant pictures from Instax and Polaroid are used. The work is packaged in a beautiful hardcover with linen binding and blind embossing. With the publication of NOW AND THEN, which this time was not financed via crowdfunding, the photographer, born in 1990, initiates a new chapter in his photographic creative world.
