Leon Beu has been photographing empty buildings for many years. Over time he havd noticed more and more that buildings do not decay in the same way everywhere. Regional history, industries and economic conditions always determine which type of building is exposed to decay over the years.
Based on this insight – and his growing interest in editorial design – he designed this book. The focus is clearly on the photos, which are presented in full format. These are supplemented by short texts, which contain partly editorial background information and partly his own experience reports. Some refinements such as a consistent icon system for orientation and some very personal passages complete the book.
Leon had the book printed only for friends, family and some interested people. Money was not the limiting factor here, so he decided to go for the more expensive, professional photo printing. Therefore, the book can only be ordered on demand, but convinces by quality and individuality.
